Just caught up with this show over the past few days. Reminds me of the movies like I Know What You Did Last Summer minus the comedy aspect. Not bad at all.

Little snippets from IMDB for those that are interested.
QUOTE
None of the main cast (other than Harry Hamlin who had signed on for only one episode) knew if their character was going to survive to the end of any episode until the day before they got the script. Rather than letting them read about it in the script the job of telling an actor that his or her character was going to be killed in the next episode fell to the Executive Producer Karim Zreik, a job that earned him the nick name "The Assassin".
QUOTE
All TV ads and previews for Harper's Island indicated that it would be only a 13-episode series, meaning only one season of the show, with the mystery antagonist revealed in the final episode.

Do I need to use spoiler bars to discuss my speculation based on the most recent episode? I thought that is why we have a discussion thread, so I think not. Otherwise, what is the point of having separate threads.
Although the show was advertised as having one killer, I think it is more likely two, and one came on the boat with the wedding party. That would be the person who tied Uncle Ben to the propeller in the first episode. I think there is a tie-in with Uncle Marty and the killer who was already on the island regarding the cash (found with the boat), which maybe killer 2 did not know about.
This is pure speculation on my part, but most of the victims were related to the Wellingtons, not Abby. It would make sense if it the primary motive was money, so think someone who stands to inherit if they kill off everyone else in line. That leaves Shea, Trish, and Henry (assuming he and Trish marry).
After this episode, we know killer 1 is Wakefield, although it is possible he did not commit any of the original murders, and was only in cahoots with killer 2, who likely at that time found out he or she was the child of Wakefield and Abby's mother. Shea, Trish, and Henry all still qualify, because they are all older than Abby according to the show. None grew up on the island, so the adoption is not obvious, because it happened before Abby's mother moved to the island.
I would guess Abby will kill Wakefield before the final episode, so people start to feel safe. Then they aren't.
A lot depends on if this series uses crappy writing, and refuses to tie up loose ends. I think there are 3 episodes left, and I think the last will be used as an explanation/confession of how the story unfolded. That is what I would do if I was the writer.
I know that this show won't return, but I'd like a similarly-formatted summer murder mystery show.
I apologize if discussing shows that have already aired, or my speculations of them violate forum rules by not using spoiler bars. Like I said, if we can't discuss a show already posted in the main thread, why have a discussion forum? I have not read any spoilers for the show's next week, and have not even seen the previews because I watch it here, not live.

All around, pretty good one shot series. The last hour of finale was lacking, but the end of the first hour was about as heart breaking as the end of episode 11.

Good show to begin with but felt like it was dragged out for the sake of it. It would have been better in a 3 or 4 parter imo.
