It's too bad Paul Reubens has been portrayed as some sort of pervert. I honestly don't believe he is.

I'm sure he's not the first guy in the world to "expose" himself in an ADULT theater (not just a regular theater). He was just unfortunate enough to be a celebrity, so it got plastered all over the news. I'm not saying it's right to "expose" yourself (I am going to assume he was doing more than just exposing himself though) in a public place, because it's not, even if it is while watching a porno in an adult theater.

But in all seriousness...If you don't want people whacking off in your theater, then you probably shouldn't play porno.

But it wasn't just that incident that has portrayed him as a pervert, but also the time his house was searched by the police and they found "child pornography", which was actually just some vintage nude photos (30 - 100 years old) that were - according to Reubens - part of his vintage photo collection. Yes they were pictures of underage girls and boys, but they were even found with other vintage photos, and vintage magazines that Reubens collected, all of which had nothing to do with pedophilia. The photos were a form of art to Reubens, and nothing more. If that's the honest truth, then I don't think that makes him a pedophile or a pervert.

He may be weird, but I don't think he's a total pervert...just a little bit of a pervert...But who isn't?

I just think if you are a celebrity(and he was still pretty big at that time), you shouldn't be hanging out in porn theatres, do that kinda thing in the privacy of you own home lol It's funny, Ive done worse then that with girlfriends in theatres(non-porno theatres) over the years, but I'm not a celebrity.

And as for those pictures, I'm sure they were just trying to find any dirt they could, they probably were part of a collection, or something less sinister then they would have you believe...But is he gay? no doubt in my mind... but whatever, so are a lot of people(NOT including me). I just think most people wanted to see that happen to him, just cuz the way he looked, and the character he portrayed, maybe he should have been more careful, those were pretty heated times in the gay rights movement remember!!!

I've been a fan of Paul Reubens as far back as the Cheech and Chong movies, and I grew up watching him on "Pee-Wees playhouse"(I'm surprised there was only 13 episodes, it seems like a lot more) He was great in "Buffy the vampire slayer", and more recently "the tripper", and "Blow". It seems weird that hes pushin 60(57). but when you think about it, he's been around a long time!

In retrospect that whole thing might have been a publicity stunt, by that time he had pretty much taken Pee-Wee as far as he could go, and his career was dwindling, who knows.... but anyway you slice it "Pee-Wee's big adventure" is definitely a classic

i think the reason they made such a big deal out of his case was the fact he was a childrens entertainer. you know jack black at the strip joint no big deal, but the guy that does barney goes and its 5 o clock news.
if i smoke a doobe no big deal micheal phelps does it and he gets the shaft . oh how i wait for the days of legal smoking. speaking of pbs i seen the funniest thing chris brown was on seaseme street. they were showing clips of it. i wonder if he bit and smacked any of the puppets. i would like to see christian bale on there choking the shit out ofone of them. now thats comedy
