QUOTE
The show follows an organization that employs mind-wiped DNA-altered humans known as Dolls who are implanted with false memories and skills for various missions and tasks. When they are not 'at work' they are living in a real life Dollhouse which gives the show the name. One of those mind-wiped humans, a young woman named Echo, is slowly starting to become aware of herself and what's going on - all the while somebody on the outside is trying to bring the Dollhouse down while getting closer to Echo - possibly not aware that she is one of the Dolls he is after.

Sorry should ths not be in the Sci-fi page as fox has it listed as sci-fi. Sorry if i pi** some one off but it is scifi

I think lost is sci fi too but it comes under general ? In my opinion people learn where to check (i opened both scifi and general tabs to find this thread, took me 2 extra clicks.

I just watched it and its good. Worth watching, tho the story needs to develop a little more.
InsaneMind
I agree it's more sci-fi than general but I also agree it takes little effort to find it..

Pretty good show I was quite happy with the first episode thus far.

Fringe shouldnt be in the Sci-Fi section too, everything they do on that show could possibly work in theory, so its based on reality, unlike a show like Heroes which everything is definetely fiction.

Lost is more sci-fi than Heroes this season, considering the amount of time traveling they've done in just the first few episodes alone. Well maybe not, since humans with powers is pretty much sci-fi.

The devices used in Fringe make it Sci-fi, especially the one that was just used for teleportation. Hell the show is based on science, and it sure as hell aint non fiction. And if you consider what Arthur wrote at the end of the last episode, I think the show is going deeper into the sci-fi well.

it's not aquestion of better. it's just that buffy was a long running show which many regard as iconic whereas firefly (though i agree with you was much better) was cancelled before it ever had a chance to become that well known. dollhouse looks like it has some potential so it'll probably get cancelled...

Just about every list I can find has Buffy ahead of Firefly. Not to mention that Buffy was actually better than Firefly.

http://www.empireonline.com/50greatesttv/default.asp?tv=2

Buffy is easily a top 5 TV Show of all time. Firefly and it's one season, doesn't rank in the top 15 for me. Though it is #14 on that list.

When it comes to Whedon's shows, Firefly ranks well behind Buffy. Not as far behind Angel, but Angel was still the better show.

Don't look for this show to stick around long at all. It totally bombed in the ratings from what I hear. I tried watching it because it was the follow up program for Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles I believe, and it put me to sleep. Just wasn't my cup of tee, except for the hot chicks, but that's not enough to keep me glued to the TV. That and given the fact that the network didn't have much faith in it to begin with because they put it on Friday nights, the death night for all programs. I think X-Files was one of the only shows in it's genre to survive the devastating Friday night line up, and go on to something great. No offense to those that like it, to each his/her own, I just don't see it sticking around long at all.

Firefox was cool, as was Serenity. When my family and I went to Universal Pitchers Back lot a few years ago, we got to sit in and watch them film scenes of the movie, that was cool, and that's when I became a fan of the series as well, due to that. This on the other hand just doesn't seem like it has much of a chance. One of those cases of it being on a bad night, thus the viewers have spoken due to the ratings, kind of sad for the show, like it never had a chance to begin with. And this was one I was anticipating to see. Bummer!

As far as I can gather, Dollhouse has been moved to a Friday night slot, which is apparently not so good for viewing figures and so the rumour mill started up that the show was to be cancelled. There is no indication that this is yet the case.

"The eagerly awaited new Fox sci-fi show from Joss Whedon starring Eliza Dushku has undergone rewrites, reshoots and even a production shutdown before its first on-air episode. "The network and I had different ideas about what the tone of the show would be, " Whedon has admitted.

Whedon made "Dollhouse" more "exciting and accessible," he says, since the network wanted to "up the stakes, make the episodes more stand-alone, stop talking about the relationships...and add a chase." Network reps insist that "Dollhouse" is "incredibly compelling and vintage Joss Whedon," and promise to be patient with the show, but the move from Monday to Friday night (following the low-rated "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") signals low expectations."

@MOFAL: Frankly speaking, DollHouse looked quite interesting when it started. But lately it has proved to be a bummer. Lie2Me, on the other hand has proved to be quite stimulating and entertaining.
It looks to me DollHouse is about to be on the chopper's block.
The only best show on Fox right now (even though they're showing American Idol on every possible night, with an explicit intention to dumb numb the general American rationale) is Fringe..though it's been postponed to April. You gotta thank Fox for whacking and burying their best shows like Firefly..and numerous other shows to mention here. It makes you wonder, why some of the best talents in the tv industry still come back to work for them.
Lately even Seth's Family Guy has turned out to be pathetic and suckass. When you come to think of it, he's truly a comedic genius. it just doesn't make sense.
And the other two networks, ABC and NBC, barely even cut it these days. ABC is stuck with shows veered towards the increasingly older baby boomer generation. And NBC, which used to be a highflying network in its heydays with shows like Cheers, Friends and Seinfeld, is rapidly going down in ratings faster than water going down the storm drain. Even Heroes with its lately abysmal ratings has failed to resuscitate it.
The only network which has lately fared well in this melee, is CW (merged with WB..and carried by numerous Trib associated/affliated channels in the country) with its mushy shows geared towards the Facebook and Twitter generation. Shows from CW, like 'Gossip Girl', 'One Tree Hill', '90210', are doing surprisingly well.
I just hate to see...actually can't bear to see, that Fox with its retarded minions up above calling the shots on some of the best shows..still gets the best of their picks..and abandon them so recklessly. Something, which the other networks, have not been able to. It is probably, something Fox offers the creators and producers..which makes them keep coming to Fox, and not the rival networks. I just reckon, that is presumably the case.

one more vote for firefly over buffy the vampire slayer, although i never watched many episodes of the show i did enjoy the movie once. but i have watched the firefly series a couple times and watched serenity several times.
Jifar
no surprise... I only watch cause hot slayer dushku is in it. Characters and story aren't exactly compelling.

It was a good episod, but this is by far the worst Joss Whedon show of all time. He usually has girls that kick ass. I do love the fact that they have actors from Buffy, Firefly, and battlestar Galactica

It looks like there are 13 episodes already made, but only 12 of them will make it to your tv set. Im thinkin this show is circling the drain.

"This episode is not currently scheduled to air as FOX paid for 13 episodes (which included the unaired pilot, Echo), reducing the number of episodes they could air to 12. However, because the studio makes DVD deals based on the original number of 13, this episode was created as a standalone episode set after episode 12. FOX currently has no plans to pay for or air this episode.[36] It is currently unknown if this episode will air as part of the first season when broadcast in international markets."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dollh...naired_episodes

"On April 9, 2009, actress Felicia Day posted on Twitter that the 13th episode of the first season of "Dollhouse," which she guest-starred in, would not air. Whedon refuted speculation that Fox was set to cancel the show, and producer Tim Minear explained that the missing 13th episode would be on the DVD. The reason Minear gave for the episode's being dropped was that Fox was counting a pilot that was reshot as part of the original 13-episode order.[21]"
