Alright, got the downthemall addon from this thread... http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.php?showtopic=118781. Now, I went to the movie in divxvine that I was interested in. It is buffering at the moment. I went to my tools and downthemall, found the link of the page of the movie and clicked start, it's only doing a 7.8kb/s download then stopping immediately. When I open the tools menu and go to select something it is showing two programs auto-checked in the program both having to do with divx player. Should i be leaving those checked as well as the page of the movie? Somehow I am missing a step. Looks like it is downloading the page as opposed to the video that is buffering. Any help would be appreciated.

Like in the above image, for videos you want to click on the 2nd tab (Pictures and Embedded)
On divxvine the video will be the file that starts with the IP address/FSxx/files/...
Select the file and click Start, and it should download.

Also, notice the bottom of the image, I have deselected all the filter check boxes except for Videos (this will prevent it from auto-selecting a bunch of files you don't want)

The divxvine video will not auto-select because the file link doesn't end with a video extension, so you'll need to select it manually.

awesome, thank you

alright, worked great for divxvine. the stagevu site utilizes .avi extension so it autoselects when i have video files selected, correct?

Also the downthemall add on can pull from multiple chunks from what i understand? Do i actually have to select multiple threads in order for it to pull from all at once or does it automatically do that once i begin the download.

Way I understood it, was for instance the stagevu movie I wanted, when I started the download it would pull from all locations the movie was hosted at once on the stagevu site. So I would see a 10/10 chunks message or the like. So while I am playing with it on this address http://stagevu.com/video/wszoyvmjhftq i notice a 0/1 at the top? Do I need to change settings or something to allow it to pull from more areas or is it just that this particular movie doesn't have multi threads.

Hope this makes any sense....trying to explain it the best I can.

the 0/1 is saying your downloading one file,it says 0 because it's not finished yet.the file your downloading from stagevu is one file and one only, your discribing peer to peer (from all locations) its not like that.once you set the chunks to 10 at the start, thats the last you'll see.

After installing it go to the download manager and right click. Go to misc. Then choose preferances. Go to the advance tab and set the "chunks" to 10 for best speeds. This only works on hosts that allow multiple connections.

greeniz

In your browser, click Tools, highlight DownloadThemAll Tools, click Preferences.
On the preferences window, click the Advanced tab...
At the top it says 'Multipart download', move the slider to the right to increase the number of segments/chunks.
You can set it to the max of 10 and if the site allows that many it will use all of them. If the site only allows 2 simultaneous connections it will only use 2, etc.

Just tested a download from Stagevu and it seems they've made changes, I was only to connect with 3 segments and it didn't really speed up.
You just need to test which methods work best for which sites.

Excellent, ty.

Yeah somethings going on with stagevu cuz I'm only getting 3 now as well.

Believe I noticed a note on their site about moving back to another server cause they were having problems with the new one. Not sure if that may be relevant. Do we have a site that we know def allows multi dl's. I been using the stagevu site and have been dl'ing for 3 hours and only 25% in. So if anyone knows sites that definately would maximize my usage of downthemall i'd be much obliged. Like i believe greeniz stated I see no noticeable change with the 3/3.

I now have my settings all good to go so thank you to everyone that has been so helpful. I have been enjoying learning all these new things and I think i have been refreshing the forums all day constantly just to read the new stuff. So, again thank you.
