Normally when i utilize divx i can right click the screen of the movie and see my player options. I have it set so that while movie is buffering it is auto downloading as well. Does Divxvine allow me to autodownload or do i have to wait for the download link at the bottom, with the timer to pop before i can actually download the movie? Thank you in advance for any help.

first click the button highlighted in the photo? it will open the divx player in its own window.

then all right click options will be available smile.gif as shown in second photo.

hope this helps smile.gif

Thank you for your reply. My internet connection is horrid where i live. So basically, from the first picture, do i need to click that icon to bring up the second window in order for it to be auto downloading, or is it auto downloading from the first window while buffering? I generally pick a movie and have it buffering/dl'ing while i sleep so that i can watch it the next day...yes dl times are that bad. Thanks again.... new here so picking up the ins and outs.

from the right click options you can set up the divx player to auto download? if your divx player is already set up to auto download then all you have to do is let it stream and a window will notify you that your video has been saved.

Welcome to QSS. If you use firefox take a look at this thread for some other downloading options rather than the old school method you got going now.

Thanks SEB for the link. Let me clarify, haven't had issues downloading anything. Just wanted to double check with divxvine that the first window was indeed autodownloading. I run off satelite out here. So, to spend 5-8 hours buffering and it not downloading as well....kinda sux, lol. From your thread is that a program to possible speed up my downloads?

Brownee, thanx again. So, checking myself. I go to the divxvine movie site that i want, (my settings are already set to autosave), so that first window that is buffering is all I need to do, correct? Again, I appreciate the patience.

yup! once the video has buffered 100% (when the blue bar is completely filled) the video is on your PC.

That's correct.
Also, if you ever have any problems with the auto-save... not sure if it worked or whatever, then right-click the player, click preferences, click Download Cache tab, click Open Cache Folder button.
In the folder (provided you have your cache enabled) you'll find the file you just streamed with a .part file extension. Rename the file as you like and remove the .part so it ends with .avi and the file will be saved. (you'll have to close the browser window before you can rename the file)

Regarding the program SEB linked to, it can speed up the downloads from some sites, others it will be the same speed as streaming. Depends on if the site allows multiple connections, stagevu and vreel are examples of sites it does work on. You'll know if it works just by trying it, if you have it set to 10 chunks and when the download starts it shows only 1/1 chunks then that site blocks multiple connections.

Ty greeniz, the program we are referring to is downloadhelper, correct? That can take multi streams to increase dl speed? Hell, anything that can possibly speed me up is a plus. Currently running off Verizon Wireless pc card, supposedly broadband connection, but that is a myth. Best speeds i see are around 30kb/s.

Oh no, sorry... Download Helper is just an add-on to provide download links for media.
The 3rd option he mentions in that link DownloadThemAll is a download manager/accelerator (this one can possibly speed up the download) ... I use them both in conjunction.

Alright, I will check it out. Anyone aware of a site that shows multiple streaming or the like. Based on my limitations, i would obviously prefer the multiple streams to possibly speed up dl's. Also, I assume it doesn't take away from qaulity or what not? I torrent'ed the convertxtodvd today but had a few probs with the benj buttons movie....ole lady and i sat down to watch on the tv but unfortunately got the wrong one with the audio hiccups. so was trying to grab another version fast...or as fast as possible. Definately gonna try this out, and look for any stagvu or vreel links.
