WOW! This was one of the best movies I have seen this past year, and the performance by Melissa Leo (Homicide: Life on the Streets, Hide & Seek, Righteous Kill) was absolutely brilliant. Not only did I empathize with her situation in the movie, I believed she was this person not just an actor playing this character. And isn't that what acting is all about: making the audience believe you are the character whom you are suppose to be portraying.

And I really hope she at least gets an Oscar nomination because I think she deserves to win this years Best Actress in a Drama. But even if she does get a nomination, there is no chance in hell the Academy would have the balls to go against the mainstream pick of the Kate Winslet's or Angelina Jolie's of the world.

This is a remarkable movie. I was pleasantly surprised at the level and quality of acting, writing and direction. More should have been discussed about this movie upon its release (outside of Caanes, of course.)
