Global Fix

This fix has proven to be great so far and so far I haven't been told of any browser based issues. To use simply paste your link from your video directly into the box on Mega-Divx, the proper link should look like http://www.megavideo.com/?v=XXXXXXXX

In order to obtain your link if you are watching an embeded video simply click on the video but outside of the play button, or click the video after the video has begun.

This fix is for FireFox users

Here you are! One method for seeing your whole movie in a single sitting, as well as downloading megavideo movies WITHOUT premium access!

Go HERE to download the "DownloadHelper" FireFox add-on

Once installed restart your firefox as the program requests.

Choose your favorite megavideo link once loaded, click play then immediately pause your video.

To the left of your address bar should now be a swirling triangle. Click on the drop arrow and choose your video.

In order to preserve your Megavideo times, you may now wish to close the window (your download should continue)

Sorry EARLYBUCKS, the add-on will only work for Firefox. When it's downloaded via Internet Explorer one will get that file. Either consider Firefox or take a look at The QSS Toolkit pinned in this forum for one of the other Megavideo tips.

Actually Death this error can also appear when using firewalls/virus scanners. Because...

"Add-ons downloader would not be able to interpret the Download Status page, and will show the error mentioned above."

So Buck, try disabling in protection, just while you download, then try again. Let me know if it helps

(Though of course if he's using IE, that's obviously a wee bit of a problem ^.^ hehe)

I still keep getting "You have watched 72 minutes of video today..." Making it difficult to see an entire flick...

Here's a working USA Transparent proxy server address, just tested after getting the 72 minute notification: 63.214.136.151:3128
Put it in FF Tools/Options/Advanced/Settings. It will probably work for a day or two.
Note: The numbers after the colon: 3128, go in the Port field. The colon is NOT used in the HTTP Proxy field.
Use a USA Transparent proxy server to connect to Megavideo, Supernovatube, etc. if your country is blocked.

Another Tip
There is no need to wait for a video to buffer in Megavideo.
Just mouse-over the time bar to move the slider to where you want the video to begin.
After a few seconds, the video will begin to play from that point forward.
This is a good way to resume a video if you got timed out earlier.

Alternatively, use any anonymous surfing service such as Anonymouse or Guardster free web proxy to bypass the Megavideo download limit. Steps to use Guardster to bypass Megavideo Country limit are:

1. Go to the following site: http://www.guardster.com/subscription/proxy_free.php
2. Input the Megavideo download link in the Address text box. (where you will see http:// in the box)
3. Uncheck (Unselect) all the options, like No Cookies, No Scripts, No Images, Hide Referrer, Hide User Agent, Hide Title, Hide Header.
4. Click on the button "I agree an wish to surf anonymously".

- Another workaround for Megavideo slots limit is by using Google Language Tool translation capability.

1. Go to Google Language Tool, and scroll to Translate section. Or you can go direct to Google Translate.
2. Input Megavideo download link into the tex box (where you can see http://) below the "Translate a web page:".
3. For "from" option, the default (depending on your Google interface) English to German will do the trick, although other options will likely to allow the hack too.
4. Click on the "Translate" after the language option, and wait for the Megavideo download page to load, which allows you to start downloading immediately without the limitation by download limit per country.

- Another way (that i am using and its the best ) . Get RealPlayer the free version here http://www.realplayer.com/ and ull be able to Download videos from thousands websites even megavideo supernova..etc.

- Another way These are not guarenteed to work for everyone (it depends on your ISP etc).

Firstly clear your browsers cookies, next block all cookies coming from megavideo.com:

Go to: Tools > Options (in firefox)

Then click "Exceptions" and block "megavideo.com" & "www.megavideo.com" (without quotes)



Method 1
All you do is start the video playing then pause it and let it buffer all the way to the end. Then press standby on your modem (or unplug it if you don't have a standby button) and watch the movie off/line, then hit play.

(Instead of turning off/unplugging your modem, you can also try clicking File > Work Offline in your browser. But remember to change it back when you want to load another video.)

The obvious drawback is that you are offline but, you can do this all-day if you want to have a marathon Megavideo session without that annoying video limit.

Method 2
Unplug your modem from its power supply. The mailing address you have leased from your carrier will expire, as it will see that you are no longer online, and you therefore do not need an IP Address. Your IP Address currently being used will return to the pool of IPs available to use to your IP.
Clear your cookies. This takes care of the client side monitoring being done on your machine.
Wait 60 Seconds, then plug your modem back in. During the reinitialization of your modem, it will query your IP carrier for another IP Address from the pool of available ones, giving you a new IP Address.
Reconnect to Megavideo by closing your browser and accessing the material again. Your cookies will be cleared, and Megavideo will have no record of your new IP Address on their server log. Enjoy another hour of uninterrupted content.

(Method 2 won't work if you have a static IP)

Hopefully one or the other of these methods worked for some people until Mega Video realises their stupididty and removes the limitations.

Method 3
- create a second guest user profile on your internet provider and bookmark your site on both.
- When the Megavideo Movie stops, simply log on to your online guest profile, locate the megavideo movie link and once it plays, simply adjust it to where the movie left off, and enjoy.

- How To Download MegaVideo Through FireFox...

In this guide I am going to teach you how to download MegaVideo video's through FireFox without any downloads.
This is a quick guide and about anyone can do it so here it goes...

First - If you don't have Mozilla FireFox you will need to download it.

Next you will want to find the video on MegaVideo that you are wanting to download.

For example I have decided to download Scary Movie 4 due to it being opened on my screen.

Now you will need to let the movie start and then in the address bar type in "about:cache" without the "



Next click "List Cache Entries" under the big bold letters - "Disk cache device".

Your going to find a bunch of crappy entries in the cache that you won't need.



Now with the wonderful help of FireFox press "Ctrl+F" and a quick search bar will come up on the bottom of the screen...

Now search for this exact term - "megavideo.com/files" ...



After you type this in and click enter you will find a entry that includes this keyword and a huge datasize...

The datasize will be somewhere in 7 digit range... due to the movie size.

Next click the link abovhttp://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.php?act=post&do=edit_post&f=1&t=111415&p=546589&st=0e datasize and click the link on the next page...



Now theres your movie... this might seem like a long way to download a movie but it takes only seconds really...

Now all you have to do is get a .flv to .mpg or .avi converter and you have a nice DVD movie.

- Another method

Just right click on the following link:

and choose to bookmark the link (or add to favorites). Then go to the MegaVideo of your choice and after the page has loaded, click the bookmark for "MaxMegaVideo" and you'll return to the link page and be able to watch or download the video without a time limit.

- here is wat u need to do step by step:

- go here http://www.maxedroom.com/videos/MaxMegaVid...l?input=%27+s2;
- bookmark the web page
- choose any megavideo movie link u wanna watch and open it (don't press the play button)
- now stay on that megavideo page and open the bookmarked maxedroom page u will see that its opening at the same megavideo page
- wait a little then its gonna take u to maxedroom main page again now u can choose if u wanna watch or download the move.

None of these worked. I still get the 72 min message. Any other suggestions?

None of them will or can bypass the 72 minute limit period because its not a specific IP thing. its a timer period.
SO no matter the IP the timer will be there counting. Nothing you can do but upgrade and pay. Sure you can download movies and once you've reached the limited time from downloading start ove rwith an aon addy but whats th epoint ?
The fastest time sI have achieve with road runner from mega video down loads was 1 hour 20 minutes LOL!
SO your eternally fooked unless you're watching a short film.

Pirateer - What you may have experienced is the following:
If you use a proxy address that had already been used to connect to Megavideo and has timed out, then you will also get a timed out message. In that case, you would simply need to find a proxy address that hasn't timed out.

This is what I did after I got a 72 minute time out message using IE7.
I closed IE7, and opened the same video in FF3, and it also gave me the 72 minute time out message.
I utilized the proxy method referred to in post #7 above and watched the video in FF without any time out messages.
This method is tested, and it works.

No prob brouty, and give the kids a pat on the back from QSS , sry for not answering any questions myself guys, was out of town, but i'm back and ready to roll!!

One thing people need to keep in mind, as i've received a few questions about it "hey i'm not getting a full 72 minutes" is that in some cases keeping multiple windows open, or having multiple people in the same house watching videos WILL count as the same timer!!

I figured it out I was using firefox 3.0.1 and i upgraded to 3.04

Another problem is the add-ons says its not compatible with firefox 3.04 is there anyway to get pass this because my
google tool bar, real network settings, realplayer browser recorder, and talk back or not compatible so what do i do?

Go back and reinstall an older versions, preferably something in the 2._._ area

That's correct, choose the country code that applies to one's place of residence.

en = english, es = espanol

i just watched a vid on megavideo and it stopped and it gave me the "you have to wait 52 min. " but i closed the tab for mv and clicked the link again and hit play and moved the slider and i watched the rest of the movie. there was no wait at all. hope this helps.

Step 1: Choose any megavideo or videos you want to see and start them, once started pause each one.

Step 2: Wait for the Video or videos to Buffer 100%.

Step 3: Once they are 100% Buffered, in your browser, go to File on the Menu Bar and Choose Work Offline. (Alt-F, W)

Step 4: Watch Your Complete Movies.

Step 5: When finished watching the movies, Exit the Megavideo windows and Go Back to File on the Menu Bar and deselect Work Offline to continue Browsing or select More Megavideos to Watch!

^^^ is the only method i haven't wasted time on yet. how will the video buffer completely when.....
the mega video "timer" counts kb transfered. ahem, download, and you'll only get so much of the video, then you're cut off. i was really hoping that would work but its a no go.

proxies are a grand hassle. finding one with a tolerable speed takes an hour = pointless.

is there a newer method yet? cause i think mega video got wise to some of these.. or something.

Too right. And they don;t even seem to make any difference for me anyhow. Megavideo just doesn't seem to want to forget me no matter what IP address or proxy i'm using. On the plus side its time limit seems screwed - it says i have to wait like 56 mins but after a couple of refreshes i could play again after about 15 min.

Oh the irony - After taking over three hours to watch half of my movie on megavid I just noticed its on the telly in ten minutes....

Yesterday when i got that message on Megavideo, i unplugged my router for 20 seconds, hooked it back up then i was able to watch the rest of the video. Someone told me that trick, apparently it changed the IP address or something like that, but you should give it a try...

hi i tried using the guardster link from the help section. however when i input the megavideo link, i was asked to upgrade to the latest flash player. when i clicked the download button, nothing happened. i have tried several times but no deal. all the QSS videos play on the flash version i have already, but how do i get the new flash player? and will i be able to surf anonymously once i do?

another issue i hope ghoul can address is that i have started getting popup ads from ASDA, and UK lottery from QSS, can you help me put an end to this.

I never notice any popups from qss site at all...if I were you I would use firefox it's significantly better at removing annoying popup ads. Also it sounds like you might have some malware/adware in your computer that no matter where you go you'll get popups. as for flash...try this

C:\Windows\System32\macromed\flash\ and run the FlashUtil file...that file ensures that the newest version of flash is installed. Also when you do this close your browser windows to make sure they are affected by the updated install. After you restart, everything should work fine...if you still get a prompt for a new flash version post back and there are a few other things you can try.

The downloader seemed to work just as expected, but what do I watch a Megavideo with? My Div-x player, WM, and Veoh Player wont recognize the file. I did rename the file, but they all noticed that, and gave me different reasons as to why it couldn't play. Any suggestions?

Megavideo files are encoded like youtube (FLV) ,do a google search for free flv players

The anon tricks no longer seem to work. I get 'Connection Errors' now. The downloadhelper interrupts through download now in the typical "72 Minutes" notice. ><'. The Google Translator gets 'Connection Error' now.

Power went out halfway through an episode of NCIS ><'. Came back on and watched like 5 more minutes and go the 72 minute error ><'

Try the VLC Player available free at http://www.videolan.org/ It will play flvs as well as most other formats. A big plus is you can correct the audio sync problem we have been getting lately with some uploads. When the file plays, hitting the "J" key will slow the audio soundtrack down. Keep hitting it until the audio syncs, then enjoy the movie. (Hitting the "K" key speeds the audio up).

As for downloading, try http://vid23.com/ They have recently adapted to Megavideo files. Copy and paste the Megavideo link onto their site, and you can download the file. Works around the time limit too...

For Firefox users with pop-up issues I recommend using ABP or "Ad-Blocker Plus" It's an EXTREMELY useful tool that not only prevents pop ups, but also blocks the ad's themselves as they appear on the page. (i.e banners, screen crossing boxes, side banners, etc. etc.)



This is because your particular IP is dynamic (which means it changes everytime you unplug and replug your router) while not everyone's IP is dynamic for those who it is, IF unplugging their router is an option then yes, it will work.

so does the going offline method still work ? i cleared my cookies from firefox, then went to exceptions and blocked all cookies from megavideo.com and www.megavideo.com , then i let the video buffer all the way, went into offline mod, i put the firewall to stop all activilty i even unplugged my interent cable, yet at 72min, the msg came up. i belive theres some hidden cookie or something in my comp. anybyd know what it is and how to get rid of it. thx

i do this all the time when i watch megavideo, because whats the point in waiting. While the second vids is loding i can go back to the first link and watch the film.... just a thought.

1. Bookmark this page:

2. Go to your megavideo link

3. Wen the page loads, click the bookmark and there you have it, no-limit watching:)

when watching mega vid wait for it to load fully then click work offline and reset your modem... this should work so u can watch the film with out that stupid time limit. if that doesnt work then when the message appears just reset your modem and watch from where you left off this will work. hope this helps

The best way to bypass the time limit on megavideo is to reset your modem and delete all cookies in tools. When you go back online your ip address will have changed so it thinks you are someone else and you can watch another 72 minutes. You can do this as much as you want.
