is it me or do none of the divx movies stream yet the main movie page is full of them ?? WHY
jimmy
do you have any links for me to check..it would be helpful thanks...

moved to help..
JayFlix
i have been posting movies on there, believe me they work. what is that they are not doing for you ? are you getting any type of error message?

i try them twice before they can be posted so i know they work. we just have to figure out why you are having this trouble.

are the movies stuck on "connecting" ? clear your cache if that is the case. once a movie moves from "connecting" to "buffering" i will wait for almost a full minute before clicking play if the movie has not started playing on it's own.
i posted 40 movies on there tonight, they can't all not work. you need to try to fix what you are doing or not doing.

here is the link to the divx forum, try those movies out and see if you are having trouble with those as well

DivX forum link.

The lastest news on that is that SNT is spotty & not as reliable as they used to be. Some work, others don't, for unknown reasons at this time.
====================================================
The following Main Site videos were examined & the results are:

[DivX] College (2008)
http://quicksilverscreen.com/watch?video=53811
The downloaded video file is not a DivX file.
Usually means it's dead, please report these by clicking the "report dead" link to the right of the "download this video" link. This one was, grin.

[DivX] Casino (1995) p2
http://quicksilverscreen.com/watch?video=53805
hung up on connecting for a bit, then played after a minute

[DivX] Beerfest (2006)
http://quicksilverscreen.com/watch?video=53800
Played right away

[DivX] American Pie Presents Beta House (2007)
http://quicksilverscreen.com/watch?video=53797
This video is stuck on connecting & the temp file has stopped building at 4761 KB. Will attempt again to see if it builds further or not.
====================================================
When the divx crew log in or see this thread, they will be able to add to this discussion.

Edit (Sat.112208 4:11pm CST/GMT-6): American Pie is buffering at an infinetessimal rate. It is not playing, yet the temp file build is moving, now it just disappeared, shakes head.

Heroes 3x01

Please notate the message above the display: If player stuck on connecting, try clearing the divx cache & refreshing the page.

It's the last part that many will miss.

To clear cache:
1. Right-click the display
2. Select preferences
3. Download Cache tab
4. Clear cache now button at the bottom

Yeah my guess is that a lot of people clear their browser cache, and not their divx player cache.

Or vice a versa, snicker.

V-Divx links may also be an exception & will require software to run.

The Divx crew was just notified of this & will respond at their leisure.

could you provide me with a link to this site that you are having trouble with?
i will then have a look myself.

there is no extra software except for the divx web player to download, if you have that you should be set.

No, only those links that are labeled as V-Divx, as DeathDealer referenced above.
Stuck at connecting is one problem, but stuck at 0%buffering is a completely different problem.
So let's work with specific links so that we can diagnose the actual cause and not just guess...

Using this Heroes link (the same one DeathDealer posted) http://www.mrbrownee70.com/forum/2shared.php?id=9910594
this is hosted on 2shared, please try the link and tell us what happens.
If it gets stuck at 0%buffering, then... right-click player>>click preferences>>Download Cache tab>>click 'Open Cache Folder' button
In that folder look for a file 'Quicksilverscreen.divx.part', then check the filesize... is it 14 kb? If Yes, this is due to 2shared's 'User Session Limit' and mean's you'll have to try the link later.

As a comparison, try this link http://donogo.com/video.php?id=888
this is hosted on donogo, again let us know what happens.

**both links working and start playing right away for me as of posting this

besides the v-divx give us some links that do not work for you and we can diagnose the problem much easier that way? if none of the videos on the "mrbrownee70" work for you then their may be some settings on your pc that are causing this problem? we assure you that the videos on "mrbrownee70" are working!
Uncle B
As mentioned before the most common problem is the cache has not been cleared, occasionally it's a software problem, if u can't get any of our Divx content to stream, it's most probably software related, u can find a list of old Divx web players here -

http://www.oldapps.com/divx_player.htm

I suggest u roll back and install an older version. Good luck smile.gif
