what does this do?

When you do a clean windows install, your windows disk often doesn't have the drivers to work with your actual hardware... and if you don't have network card drivers, no internet to get them. a disk like this will ensure that you can get what you need to make a computer run sans interwebs. not guaranteed to work 100% of the time (millions of different hardware configurations out there) but I used it for the first time and everything i needed was on there.

Have you been ever thinking about the importance of drivers. No? You’d better think. Because apart from long scientific explanations, drivers are such unnoticeable (from the first sight) programs, which become more than noticeable when you don’t have them, when you have deleted them by accident or simply don’t know ware to get them … You computer simply doesn’t work the way it should …. when windows installs my updates does this include my drivers,if not then this is the software to do so,sorry been so dumb but at times tech stuff can look like this (sdkbfksk;;A;SKJND) to me

When i reformat my PC XP cant find my sound card or network card so no INTERNET i keep my drivers on CD

Windows updates do not usually include drivers. Drivers are hardware specific... the simple explanation:
When you buy a new printer it comes with a disk. On that disk are the drivers you need to run the printer. If you don't install them, it'll never do anything. While Windows does have some basic drivers included with it, you need the exact driver for your piece of hardware for it to be fully functional.
