The only reason this film is called "Zombi 2" (the E is supposed to be missing) is because Dawn of the Dead was released in Europe as "Zombi" (it was also re-edited, and re-scored by Dario Argento for it's EU release) , and of course made lots of money, and was really successful, so to try to cash in on that success they called this film "Zombi 2" - even though it's not related to Dawn of the Dead ("Zombi" in Europe) in any way - and added a couple new scenes in at the beggining and end of the film to try to try to tie it in with Dawn of the Dead. When this film was released in America they renamed it to simply Zombie. It is also known as Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Confusing stuff, I know.

Also...This film was actually released in 1979 in Italy. It was released in America in 1980.
