Is it just me or was anyone else a little disapointed in the last James Bond movie?
I usually love the Bond films.
And It was still watch able, Hell it was even enjoyable,,,It just didn't feel like it
was worth the wait.
I do think that Daniel Craig is great in the role, but i the story just didn't
seen like it was even really a stand alone Bond film, but more of a
conclusion to Casino Royal.

Even the stunts scenes just didn't seem all that great.
The car chase scene seemed average.
The boat scene, probably the highlight of the movie, was flat compared to the
boat scene in live and let die.
Even the bond woman , while pretty just didn't seem up to James Bond standards.

And what was up with the villain?
He has got to be the lamest bond villain of all time!!!

I know there is going people who disagree.
But for the first time ever after seeing a New James Bond
movie I don't feel like I want to see it again right away.

im with you......judt didnt have the same feel after i saw casino royale. and im not really anticipating quantum either.....ill eventually get around to it like most anyone else would, but i can already say its going to be just "meh" to me......

youre right about craig though. hes doin a pretty darn good job.......i guess many of us are just old school. no matter how good or bad any of the films have ever been, there will never be a bond like connery, least to me anyway.
Trebek
I haven't watched it yet...But I did watch the first few minutes and I have to say that the constant cutting of shots during the action sequences was disorienting and uncool. I sure hope all the action scenes aren't cut as bad as that first scene.

Connery is THE MAN.
But they were all good as Bond with the exception of most of Roger Moores later bond outings (He just got too old).
Moore was great in Live and let Die.
But even as corney as some of Moore's Bond movie were (Moon Raker) they still felt like a Bond movie.
This just seemed like a generic action movie.

Clive Owen should've been bond, instead of boring Daniel Craig. I couldn't even finish Casino Royal so i won't be watching the new bond flick. I used to love bond back in the day, before pierce brosnan, another bad pick IMO.

Now that you mention it, The movie did have a definite "Vertigo Look"l to it.

He was in the running for the part.
Clive Owen had the right look for Bond.
Anyone who saw Clive Owen in the BMW film series knows he would have been great.

I have not seem it yet either. I am going to still watch it this weekend, yeah I have been hearing that it is not as good as some others. It has a 70% now on Rotten Tomatoes compared to the 94% Casino Royale got. I loved Casino Royale, but it does seem like something was lost. Now I do like Daniel Craig, but now that you mention it, Clive Owen would have been a great choice. He is wonderful actor, very cool, and I am sure he can pull off the suit. Nice gesture shaolinblade.

Heres my take on the whole movie. I thought it was OK, at best for Bond. It was lacking in a few aspects ( some I'm not sure if we'll see in Bond films ever again)

No Miss Moneypenny,
No kick ass Bond theme song sequence in the film, nor was there in the last one ( the end 10 seconds don't count )
No Q or gadgets that use to make Bond great,
Bond only got 1 girl in this one,
They copied Goldfinger in this one ( the scene with her covered in oil )
Mr. White got away,
No circles floating across the screen at the start of the movie to open up wide revealing the 1st action sequence, ( had to wait till the end)!
Didn't actually get to see the main bad guy bite the dust, only referenced it.

Those were the main things they could have improved on, but thats just my opinion.

I didn't like it at all. I like DC, but I don't think he should be the new Bond. The locations suck! Too much falling off things. No gadgets.
This is the bond from the 60 gadgets years. We have a vast amount of tech no to make any Bond movie great. I Think the Transporter movies are better.
No real bad guy, except in the first one. I think he want's out of his contract. That's why he was saying Bond should have a gay love interest.

Yes I agree Clive would have made a great Bond. I think he changed his mind, because James Bond Has a lot of sceen where they show his legs when he walks. Clive is knock kneed. Other than that he has it all. BMW clips are I love.

Not since Moonraker has there been a worse Bond movies than this one. went to see it last night shouldn't have gone. Alot of pure action if that's the only thing your looking for, besides that it wasn't Bond. You could have substituted nearly any action hero and it wouldn't have changed the movie much.

Just watched it yesterday, The camera was moving so fast I got dizzy watching it.
