Semi-Spoiler follows:
When Glover bursts through the slaughter house door with explosives yelling "YOU WANT ME, HERE I AM!" I love the part where he casually blasts keys to dust. There's a reason the predator stalked Glover this whole time
. The only part I hate is when Glover is standing over the pedators body and he doesn't finish him off! They do it in every fucking movie!
I remember reading an IMDB review that said the scene where Glover defeats the predator in melee combat was wholey unbelievable. I've watched this movie several times and I have to disagree. Glover was weaker physically, but the fight lasted only 10 seconds and the predator was simply weakened and in that weakened state, outsmarted by Glover. If the director meant to show us that a predator could only be defeated by a human while near-death, then he did a fantastic job, but as I AM a member of the human race, I feel compelled to believe that Glover simply outsmarted that bastard, plain and simple
. Either way, GG
.I know, this reply is becoming epic in scope, but this movie is dear to me. I just want to say that the ending is just as good or better than predator one, it shows that the aliens came for a reason, and that they knew there would have been no real reward for trying to "conquer' Earth, obviously we would have resistd and gave them tremendous losses. I would love to see more sci-fi authors embrace the idea that conqest is not always at the top of the list.
I have no doubt that if/when humans spread throughout space to other civilized worlds, we will see the same, sound, logic. Conquest in space is pointless. You have to look beyond it and find a greater goal(or pleasure).
