If I had to guess, I'd say you won't.
The "sickness" is what makes this film so effective. It's a rape revenge film, you have to expect it to be pretty brutal. Films now days just lack that rawness...the grittyness of it. I, personally, think that helps make it feel more real. It's harder for me to suspend disbelief when everything and everyone is so polished and "hollywoodized".
It'll be interesting to see how the remake compares to the original.
