actually pretty good, although kinda one sided, and abuse a law made for sick people...
im still for global legalization, but with good, true information about side effects and such... Weed can mess you up if you are mentally unstable.... *lights up* as long as alcohol is legal, weed should be legal too... |

I'm glad your posting your opinion, but trying to pass it off as a fact. There is no evidence weed can harm you more if your mentally unstable... But if you think there is evidence please post it. "....regular use of marijuana is addictive, leads to anxiety disorder and depression, dangerously increases heart rate, and can be a major cause of lung diseases and chronic illnesses." "...The natural chemical balance of the brain is disrupted affecting the pleasure centers and regulatory systems. The ability to learn" http://media.www.gcsunade.com/media/storag...a-3542080.shtml http://www.marijuana-addiction.net/marijua...ide-effects.htm Now, none of those are links or quotes to how marijuana affects already mentally unstable people but none of the above mentioned in the quotes bode well with people who are already depressed, bi-polar or whatever. Fact is that it has not been researched as much as it needs to be as far as aiding mental diseases. They have found that it does help stabilize moods when the user is using but when they are not, depression and addiction creep in even harder then before. And unless the patient plans on using for their entire life (and eventually dying of lung cancer because of the usage) all the time then it cannot be considered a legitimate means to cure or help. When a person stops using marijuana after a long time of using they also very often go through long bouts of depression and anxiety (up to a year, I went through about 9 months of depression after i stopped 13 years of use) and again, thats not something that bodes well with already unstable minds. So in essence, yes, it would be more damaging to someone in that situation. The ironic thing here is that most people who continue to use marijuana after their "experimental" years do so in an attempt to control their depression, anxiety or because of their addictive personality. And no matter how you cut it, these things are all better taken care of by proper medical staff with proper medicines without the use of pot. I am not saying that marijuana has no medical benefits nor i am suggesting it be legalized, illegal, or whatever, i am simply saying that it is not the cure all that people make it out to be (i laugh when people tell me it is not addictive) especially when most of the things it helps with have other options that are more effective and have a better track record for patient recovery. I thought this documentry was pretty well done except for the entire 30 days of smoking part. Sure it sounded like a good idea, and this guy sounded like a stoner coming into this so i figured he would take smoking to the limits and blaze up rediculous amounts, but im pretty sure i smoke in the average month more then he did in this so called test. I go through a half-ounce a week almost and there isnt much effort involved in that.
It would have been cool if they took a scientific approach to his smoking so they could keep track of exactly how much he had. He should have had rolled and smoked only 1 gram joints the entire time, or pack .2 into every bong hit. He also should have only been smoking on his own, not sharing with friends. They can smoke with him, but smoke their own joints etc... There should have been a trial period before the tests began, he should have tried to smoke as much as he could in a day, and whatever that was, make him do that for 30 days straight. Something tells me he wasnt smoking much more then 2 grams over the day, maybe less if he was using the volcano. He should have had to eat 1 weed snack per day as well and atleast 1 weed tea. With food included, he should have smoked atleast a half-quarter a day minimum... oh and that Volcano he smoked out of is awesome, ive used it before and they are great little vaporizers, pefect if you dont want to produce a lot of smoke. Only problem I noticed and it kinda bugged me even though it was clearly done to look cool, the fact that he wanted to start smoking at 4:20. He showed the clock at 4:19 and he didnt even have the weed in the Volcano yet, he clearly rolled back the clock so it would say 4:20, even though it takes a good 5+ minutes to vill the Volcano bag. That wasnt anything major, but still, I would have rather seen him get pissed because it took so long.(and his friend that dropped the weed so many times was a fuckin goof!) |
