someone please try to find a full version of Seven Kingdoms 2 The Frythan Wars also robbeh thanks for trying i gave it 2 shots trying to do what the .ngo file said to do but it just said 7k2.exe strange i didnt do what it said to do and it works good sept its only a 14 day trial -Wonders (if after 14 days of trial if i can just reinstall) some one answer that for me please so keep looking as will i God the frythan wars is hard to find will let you know if conquest works when im done downloading it all Aha - I think I've solved the problem! (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Here's what I did: - Installed the game ('SevenKingdomsIISetup.exe' in the RAR archive) and unchecked the box that says to run it after install. - Copied the '7k2.exe' file from the RAR archive to the directory I'd installed it to, replacing the 7k2.exe file that was there. - Ran the game from the shortcut on my desktop. It didn't mention a trial period, and seems to have the full functionality of the game (Multiplayer, Campaign, Single Mission, Mission Editor modes). So after you install, just replace the 7k2.exe in the install directory with the one in the RAR file and it should be the full version. (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) EDIT: (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) - The crack (the '7k2.exe' file) disables the intro movie and CD audio, which will obviously be included in the ISO. Still looking tho; if I find an ISO I'll post it here and PM ya. I think you've hit the nail on the head though - Vista's most likely the cause of the problem. As the crack was probably created before Vista was released it was probably coded with Win 98/XP in mind, and is most likely incompatible with Vista. So unless Vista has a "Compatibility Mode" (like XP does) under which you can run the cracked version, looks like an ISO copy is your only option. (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Hopefully an ISO will rear its head soon, so you can play this game. I'll keep looking for it though. windows 98----------------------failed got a black screen that said error opening some file---(edit----Worked for me after a few trys and tinkering) windows 2000-------------------failed got a 72k.exe stoped working windows xp service pack 2----failed got the same result as windows 2000 windows 95----------------------failed same result as 98 Edit--------------------------------- i did some editing to the game files and then re-ran it in compatiblity mode with windows 98 and it worked 1.install the game and when it ask were to put it select desktop and make a new folder name it whatever i choose 7k2 2.what i did play it for a hour--- expireing the trial 3.removed the saves and name i used from the game directory 4.took the 7k2.exe(the patched version) from the rar downloaded file 5.replaced the old trial version 7k2.exe with the patched version 6. open the vista compatibility mode and continue till you get to select program 7 click browse choose the 7k2 short-cut thats on the desktop 8.when it ask what Os you would like to see if its compatible with select windows 98 9.select run as administrator 10.continue on till your prompted for access to run the 7k2.exe 11.once its running make a new name and then select quit 12. it will ask on the compatiblty mode program did it work, did it not work 13 select did it work select save setting for this program, finish and enjoy playing also on another note you may need to do this more than once this is for any Windows Vista Users who might want this only if you use Xp or God for bid you still use 98 then you will be fine with the file for 7k2, just patch normally as robbeh said how to also in response to Robbeh the intro to the game and sound doesn't seem to work there's a file in the 7k2 directory call skipavi.sys if you remove it the entrance will come up could you confirm that this will work on Xp as well personally i like being able to skip it auto as it saves me time but you can stop looking for an iso version, took a good bit for me to figure this little thing out but i got the little bugger (testament to how much i wanted this game)(spent a good 2 hours and trial and error (glad im pc savy in some areas also still no update on 7k3 conquest as i ran in to some internet issues and then got hit with latest important updates for vista (oh boy updates) This post has been edited by SS5goku: Aug 14 2008, 11:20 AM |

Zero Hour introduces nine subfactions, units under one of the three powers, including the US air force and the Chinese infantry. Each has its own unique leader and its own playing style. Some subfactions may not be able to build every unit available to its umbrella faction but may have access to specialized technology that no other group has. In the new im sorry that i had adware. try removing it with ad-aware or some other programs. here's more links but again they havent been tested Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour (IMG:http://i31.tinypic.com/wlu4uc.jpg) Generals Challenge mode, a player's subfaction is pitted against the other eight on their home territory. The game also includes five new missions for each of the three superpowers. Each faction has three new units available, plus a new building, new upgrades, and new general powers. These new units include the US microwave tank, the Chinese Helix helicopter, and the GLA combat cycle, while new buildings include the US firebase, the Chinese internet center, and the GLA can now construct fake installations to confuse its enemies. ...also in response to Robbeh the intro to the game and sound doesn't seem to work there's a file in the 7k2 directory call skipavi.sys if you remove it the entrance will come up could you confirm that this will work on Xp as well personally i like being able to skip it auto as it saves me time but you can stop looking for an iso version, took a good bit for me to figure this little thing out but i got the little bugger (testament to how much i wanted this game)(spent a good 2 hours and trial and error (glad im pc savy in some areas also still no update on 7k3 conquest as i ran in to some internet issues and then got hit with latest important updates for vista (oh boy updates) Yay - glad you managed to sort it out, SS5goku! (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Thanks for posting the solution to running it too - invaluable info for other Fryhtan Wars fans running Vi$ta. (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I've tried what you suggested and yes, removing the skipavi.sys file lets the intro movie play without a problem in XP. Nice work! (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A little sidenote: The in-game music doesn't play with this version as it comes from the CD drive. Therefore if you've got an audio disc in your CD drive you will find it playing during the game as the program believes it to be the game disc. I just left the CD drive empty when I played as a workaround. The Seven Kingdoms: Conquest links I posted have got favourable replies on some other sites where I've seen them, so I presume there's no faults in the running of the game... And as it's a recent release (2008) I imagine it'll run fine under Vi$ta. *crosses fingers* (IMG:http://static.quicksilverscreen.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
