The Green Mile is a 1996 serial novel written by Stephen King. Published in six volumes, it was crafted while the book was already in production. It focuses on the encounter a death row supervisor, Paul Edgecombe, has with an unusual inmate, John Coffey, who displays unexplainable healing and empathetic abilities. The novel was originally published in serial form before being republished as a single volume work.

They call death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary “The Green Mile.” John Coffey, sentenced to die for the rape and murder of two young girls, is the latest addition to the Mile. Paul Edgecomb, the ward superintendent, discovers that there is more to John Coffey than meets the eye, for this friendly giant has the power to heal.

The Gingerbread Girl

(IMG:http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/2/gingerw.jpg)

In the emotional aftermath of her baby's sudden death, Em starts running. Soon she runs from her husband, to the airport, down to the Florida Gulf and out to the loneliest stretch of Vermillion Key, where her father has offered the use of a conch shack he has kept there for years. Em keeps up her running—barefoot on the beach, sneakers on the road—and sees virtually no one. This is doing her all kinds of good, until one day she makes the mistake of looking into the driveway of a man named Pickering. Pickering also enjoys the privacy of Vermillion Key, but the young women he brings there suffer the consequences. Will Em be next?

Bag of Bones

(IMG:http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/980/sk2c.jpg)

Here is Stephen King's most gripping and unforgettable novel -- a tale of grief and lost love's enduring bonds, of haunting secrets of the past, and of an innocent child caught in a terrible crossfire.

Four years after the sudden death of his wife, forty-year-old bestselling novelist Mike Noonan is still grieving. Unable to write, and plagued by vivid nightmares set at the western Maine summerhouse he calls Sara Laughs, Mike reluctantly returns to the lakeside getaway. There, he finds his beloved Yankee town held in the grip of a powerful millionaire, Max Devore, whose vindictive purpose is to take his three-year-old granddaughter, Kyra, away from her widowed young mother, Mattie. As Mike is drawn into Mattie and Kyra's struggle, as he falls in love with both of them, he is also drawn into the mystery of Sara Laughs, now the site of ghostly visitations and escalating terrors. What are the forces that have been unleashed here -- and what do they want of Mike Noonan?

Blaze

(IMG:http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/3570/blaze.gif)

Blaze Clayton Blaisdell Jr.is a big dummy, very big: six-seven, 270. But not exactly very dumb. He was a smart little boy until his drunken father threw him downstairs three times in a row. He relearned to read a bit, mostly comic books, but was thereafter an otherwise learning-challenged ward of the state with a horrendous dent in his forehead. Now a mid-twenties adult, he has just lost his bosom buddy and partner in petty cons, George, who still speaks to him somehow, especially about the big score, the one to retire on. Blaze realizes that George isn't really haunting him; in fact, Blaze possesses an excellent, though highly selective, memory. In honor of George, he decides to do the big one, the kidnapping of a wealthy couple's baby. He succeeds, albeit imperfectly enough that the state cops and FBI know whodunit within a day, and he surprises himself by bonding with the infant, which for readers makes the hunt for Blaze an Alfred Hitchcock like exercise in moral ambivalence. It's impossible not to root for Blaze, especially since Bachman flashes back copiously and with maximal sympathy to the damaged man's past.

Blood and Smoke

(IMG:http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/672/0001us.jpg)

Stephen King has forced us to confront our greatest fears. He has guided us through the depths of our imagnation to places we never would have ventured alone. Now, in Blood and Smoke, he takes us inside a world of yearning and paranoia, isolation and addiction. It is the world of the smoker.

In this audio-only collection, the now politically incorect habit plays a key role in the fates of three different men in three unabridged stories of unfiltered suspense.

In Lunch at the Gotham Cafe, Steve Davis is suffering through intense withdrawal -- from both nicotine and his wife. His desperation for a cigarette and for his ex are almost too much to bear, but that's nothing compared to the horrors that await him at a trendy Manhattan restaurant.

In 1408, Mike Enslin, bestselling author of "true" ghost stories, decides to spend the night in New York City's most haunted hotel room. But he must live to write about it wtihout the help of his ex-best friends, his trusty smokes.

And in In the Deathroom, a man named Fletcher is held captive in a South American stronghold. His captors will use any tortuous means necessary to extract the information they want from him. His only hope lies with his last request -- one last cigarette, please.

A cartonfull of chills and thrills, Blood and Smoke is classic Stephen King. The most mesmerizing storyteller of our time is at his inventive and compelling best.

Cell

(IMG:http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/1172/0003nt.jpg)

Artist Clayton Riddell had been in Boston negotiating a successful deal to sell his comic book project. His joy at finally hitting it big is shattered by an event called The Pulse which causes all those who were using their cell phones at the time of The Pulse to become zombies attacking and killing anyone in their way. Fortunately for Clay, he does not own a cell phone.
In the panic to get out of Boston and find his way home to his wife and son in Maine, he is joined by Tom McCourt, a man he meets in the meleé immediately following The Pulse and a young girl, Alice, who they rescue from being killed by one of the “crazies.” The story follows their terrifying journey, avoiding capture—and worse—by the “crazies” who are beginning to “flock” and are led by one they call Raggedy Man as they attempt to reach Maine and a place called Kashwak which they hope will be their salvation.

Dark Visions

(IMG:http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8739/0004v.jpg)

Dark Visions is a compilation book, with three stories by Stephen King, three by Dan Simmons, and one by George R. R. Martin. The book has also been issued under the name of Dark Love, The Skin Trade, and Night Visions 5, which also contain the same seven stories. Two of the short stories by Stephen King - Sneakers and Dedication - are also contained in the anthology Nightmares & Dreamscapes.

Stephen King
The Reploids: Edward Paladin shows up in place of Johnny Carson on the Carson show, but all is not what it seems. A subsequent investigation by detective Richard Cheyney finds strange items in his possession, hinting that he may not be from our reality. His passes for the studio are the wrong color, and he has a bright blue dollar bill with a picture of James Madison on it.
Sneakers: John keeps seeing these old sneakers in the same toilet stall every time he enters it. As time passes flies are build up around the sneakers, but no one else seems to know what is going on or to notice the sneakers. But he is certain that there is a ghost in that stall.
Dedication: This tells the story of a black house maid working in a hotel and an eccentric alcoholic writer who is a frequent guest there. The maid consumes some of the writer's semen which was left on his sheets as part of a possible black magic spell, in the hope that it will pass talent and ability along to her unborn son.

Dan Simmons
Metastasis:Hideous parasites infect the world, but only one man can see them.
Vanna Fucci Is Alive and Well and Living in Hell:The godless truth behind Brother Freddy's Hallelujah Breakfast Club.
Iverson's Pits: There are some Civil War horrors you never dreamed of.

George R. R. Martin
The Skin Trade: This savage mini-epic of mankind's animal urges gives new meaning to the word "hair-raising."
The werewolf novella "The Skin Trade," originally published way back when in NIGHT VISIONS 5, has been optioned for film by Mike the Pike Productions.

Desperation

(IMG:http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/5122/0005w.jpg)

Located off a desolate stretch of Interstate 50, Desperation, Nevada has few connections with the rest of the world. It is a place, though, where the seams between worlds are thin. Miners at the China Pit have accidentally broken into another dimension and released a horrific creature known as Tak, who takes human form by hijacking some of the town's residents.
The forces of good orchestrate a confrontation between this ancient evil and a group of unsuspecting travelers who are lured to the dying town. This rag-tag band of unwilling champions is led by a young boy who speaks to God.

The Department of Scientific Intelligence (aka "The Shop") never anticipated that two participants in their research program would marry and have a child. Charlie McGee inherited pyrokinetic powers from her parents, who had been given a low-grade hallucinogen called "Lot Six" while at college. Now the government is trying to capture young Charlie and harness her powerful firestarting skills as a weapon.

Four Past Midnight

(IMG:http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/9008/0010m.jpg)

Four Past Midnight is a collection of four novellas by Stephen King, published in 1990.

The Langoliers
Passengers that have been napping on a plane wake up to find themselves alone. Everyone aboard that was awake has disappeared, leaving their clothes, dental fillings, pace makers and so on. This happened when the plane flew through a rip in time to the past. The past is a lifeless worn-out version of the present.
After landing and exploring for a time the survivors take off to return to the rip, narrowly avoiding the langoliers - creatures that eat the past, leaving only a void.
Escaping from these, the passengers fly back through the rip which takes them to the near future, a pristine fresh lifeless version of the present. Shortly the present "catches up" with them and they rejoin the normal world.

Secret Window, Secret Garden
Secret Window, Secret Garden is similar to King's earlier novel The Dark Half. Both are about an author, in this case Mort Rainey, who is a thinly-veiled analogue of King himself. Mort is visited by a man who takes the name of John Shooter, with a manuscript which proves to be an almost exact copy of a story that Mort himself wrote and published some years earlier. The man claims that Mort stole it from him and demands that Mort either prove himself innocent or write a story in Shooter's name as compensation. Shooter warns bad things will happen if Rainey does not.

The Library Policeman

The Library Policeman was written after King's son didn't want to go to the library as he was afraid of the library police. King felt this was a nice idea and used it. What if there were serious men in long coats that came to your house and fetched the books if you didn't return them in time? And most importantly: what happens if you lose the book you borrowed? Eventually, the main character is forced to confront a suppressed childhood memory and realizes the horrors occurring in his world have been unleashed by a shape-shifting figure who lives off of others' fears.

The Sun Dog
The Sun Dog is set in King's fictional city of Castle Rock, Maine, and is a prelude of sorts to King's 1991 novel Needful Things.
Kevin gets just what he wants for his fifteenth birthday - a Polaroid camera. Soon, though, he notices that there is something strange about the camera. It prints similar pictures all the time, and they are never of what the camera is pointed at. Kevin seeks help from Reginald 'Pop' Merrill, the owner of the Emporium Galorium (a junk shop) and a relatively rich man who lends money to people for illegal interests. Unbeknownst to Kevin, Pop Merrill once lent 400 dollars to his father because he lost a bet, something he deeply regrets. As the novella continues, the boy finds that the pictures are of a terrifying dog preparing to leap at the camera.

This is a complete 4-story audiobook:
